Friday morning cocktail testing: Prosecco and Rose

By kim ~ May 22nd, 2009. Filed under: Food, recipes.

Is it too early to test cocktails? It’s 5 p.m. in Paris…
I brought back this confit of rose petals–subtly sweet and fragrant–from Montreal. Stir a tablespoon or two into a glass of chilled bubbly…and garnish with a rose petal.

What’s your favorite summer cocktail?

Looks gorgeous. I can almost taste it…

Recently, we’ve had two summer cocktails in rotation at our house: Buffalo Rock ginger ale & Bulleit bourbon with bruised mint (kind of a spicy julep)

and a dressed-up g+t: a slice of lime and a slice of cucumber (seeds removed) muddled in a glass, ice, gin, and tonic. Garnish with extra lime, if you like (I do).

The rose confit sounds incredible…especially with bubbly—my all-time fave!
